A collaborative residency between Tom Krasny and Jen Sykes. Commissioned by the Goethe-Institut as part of their ‘Generation A = Algorithm’ programme, whose aim is to encourage people to reflect on the consequences, challenges and dangers of Artificial Intelligence.

The Vitrines project was a commission for Artlink Edinburgh and the Lothians. I was invited to lead workshops and work with residents of 12 wards in The Royal Edinburgh Hospital, to create collaborative sculptural installations for glass cabinets in the main public area of each ward. Every installation had a different theme.

Made in UK is a body of work resulting from extensive research across Scotland, England and the Isle of Man, focusing on the lesser known connection between renowned architect and designer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and a community of German civilians who were interned in Knockaloe Camp, Isle of Man between 1914-19.

Artlink Edinburgh and The Lothians have commissioned me to make a permanent sculpture for The Robert Ferguson Unit at The Royal Edinburgh. The prototypes for the sculpture were made in collaboration with patients from the ward, who were using modular parts and shapes to make the final compositions. The final sculpture will be completed by April 2019.

In July and August 2018, I was invited by the team at Artlink Edinburgh and The Lothians to lead art workshops in different wards of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. We were making objects to be used in REH’s summer events- a treasure hunt, and a Summer Fête.
